Wildlife at Riverview
Riverview Farm is home to an abundance of wildlife. Please see below to learn more about wildlife on the farm.

Deer
We believe Riverview is a special place and we take great pride in knowing our deer are 100% local Alabama “river bottom” whitetail – no outside genetics here! Our success in growing mature trophy bucks is a result of two things. First, our wildlife management practices are second to none thanks to the guidance and supervision provided by Dale and Daniel Bumgarner of Wildlife Management Solutions. They are two of the best in the southeast when it comes to developing properties that grow big deer! Second, and most importantly, with a herd of 450–500 deer, our success comes from harvesting the right deer. We adhere to strict guidelines to maintain a healthy herd by adequately harvesting does and by only harvesting mature bucks that are 5 ½ years old or older. We are confident this approach guarantees high-quality deer populations at Riverview Farm – not just today but in the years to come!
Turkey
Here at Riverview farm, we have a healthy population of Eastern Wild Turkey. With our dense hardwoods and healthy pine stands, we have an ideal habitat for the eastern turkey. In 2022 we competed in the Alabama One Shot Governors hunt and hosted Linda Powell from Mossberg. Linda and her guide Justin Rock harvested a turkey weighing 25.13 lbs and had an 11 ¾ inch beard with 1 1/8 inch spurs. Powell topped all 64 hunters with a 71.13 total score and was crowned the Grand Champion of the 2022 Alabama Governor’s One-Shot Turkey Hunt.

Fishing
Riverview Farm has two premier fishing lakes on the property. The Main Lake is a 7 acre pond that contains bluegill bream and largemouth bass. This lake is closely managed to produce trophy largemouth bass for every angler.
The second of two lakes is North Lake. North lake can be found snaking through the cypress trees in the northeast corner of the farm. Even though it also contains largemouth bass and bluegill bream, North Lake is known for its springtime crappie fishing.
Small Game
With the diverse landscape of fields, woods, and brushy areas, Riverview has an ideal habitat for various small game species. Gray Squirrels, Fox Squirrels, Jack Rabbits, Cottontail Rabbits, and Waterfowl all make their home at Riverview Farm.
